Optimisation of plant and animal based odors for malaria vectors control
Use of odor-baited traps based to understand the mosquito’s olfactory behavior can serve as a complementary approach in the fight against the malaria vectors. Because, synergistic integration of odorant cues might drive high levels of mosquito attraction even in the absence of CO2, this project seeks to understand the interacting effect among known plant and animal based lures (developed in our lab), with the goal to develop potent lures that may minimize on the use of CO2 for control of malaria vectors.
