icipe is a centre of excellence in insect research, the only one of its kind in Africa. This reputation is largely supported by its modern, world class scientific infrastructure, which includes a number of specially constructed facilities, which are dedicated towards conducting specialisedinsect science research.
While these facilities have implications on icipe’s own ability to innovate, overall they significantly enhance Africa's capacity to respond to a range of existing and emerging developmental issues.
