icipe Director General honoured by Ethiopian bank

Enat Bank, Ethiopia, has named its 94th branch, located in Addis Ababa, after icipe Director General & CEO, Dr Segenet Kelemu, in honour of her excellence in the world of science. Initiated by 11 distinguished Ethiopian women, Enat Bank was founded in 2011 and became operational in 2013.

icipe Director General receives one of the United States most important accolades

icipe Director General & Chief Executive Officer, Dr Segenet Kelemu, is the 2022 International Recipient of the prestigious Ellis Island Medal of Honor. The medals, which were established in 1986 by the Ellis Island Honors Society (EIHS), are among the United States most renowned awards. They are officially recognised by the US Senate and House of Representatives, and all the recipients are listed in the Congressional Records; the official record of the proceedings and debates of the US Congress.
