Dr. Inusa Jacob Ajene is a Postdoctoral Fellow in Vegetable Integrated Pest Management under the Plant Health Theme. 

He holds a PhD in Plant Biotechnology from Stellenbosch University South Africa. Prior to joining icipe, he worked as a Senior Lecturer at Ahmadu Bello University Zaria Nigeria. He has also worked as a Research Assistant at Institute for Agricultural Research, Zaria Nigeria.

His achievements are in the areas of plant pathology, entomology and molecular biology and has authored and co-authored over 15 peer-reviewed publications. He has been a recipient of the ARPPIS-DAAD PhD scholarship at icipe.

His research interests include molecular basis for plant pathogen interactions, arthropod population genetics, species distribution modelling, vegetable pathology and integrated pest management.
