Impact of biological control of stem borers on maize and sorghum production in East and Southern Africa

icipe in collaboration with its partners has developed and implemented biological control (BC) of stemborers, including the release of a natural enemy, which has now spread widely in Kenya. The SSIA Unit is  using a combination of  economic surplus approach with econometric methods, to conduct  rigorous assessment of the aggregate economic and poverty impacts of the BC.
