INVITATION FOR BIDS (IFB):

CONSULTANCY SERVICE TO UNDERTAKE FINAL EVALUATION OF THE PROJECT ‘’INTENSIFICATION OF PUSH-PULL TECHNOLOGY FOR IMPROVED FOOD SECURITY, NUTRITION, AND INCOMES’’, AT icipe.

  1. The International Centre of Insect Physiology and Ecology (icipe) is an intergovernmental organisation headquartered in Nairobi, Kenya that carries out research and training in sustainable management of insects (arthropods) for improving comprehensive health and agricultural productivity in the tropics (www.icipe.org).
  2. icipe seeks to engage an experienced individual consultant to undertake a final project evaluation on “Intensification of push-pull technology for improved food security, nutrition, and incomes” project, funded by Biovision Foundation for Ecological Development (Biovision). The evaluation aims to gather feedback from the participating farmers and stakeholders on the project and use this feedback to inform future on-farm farmers’ participatory research, co-creation processes, informing further adaptive research and identifying opportunities for scaling up similar agri-based technological interventions.   3. icipe now invites interested qualified consultants who can demonstrate technical capability to successfully deliver the above-mentioned assignment.
  4. Interested parties should have:
    (a). At least a master’s degree in a relevant discipline including with specialization in M&E, agribusiness, economics, and agricultural economics, development project evaluation, etc. Please attach detailed CV and copies of certificates.
    (b). At least 10 years of proven experience in development project evaluations in Eastern Africa. Preferably a good understanding of agricultural intensification and impact evaluation.
    (c). Consultants shall provide two previous evaluation reports related to rural development projects, preferable about the agriculture/horticulture sub-sector.
    (d). Please provide contact details of at least three (3) organisations where you have provided similar service. The references will be contacted.
    (e). Signed cover letter with your contact details e-mail/phone, and physical address.
    (f). Provide a competitive fee quote in KES or US$ to perform the assignment, clearly itemised to show each costing.
  5. Technical and Financial proposals should be submitted to the address below electronically through e-mail at on or before 11:00 hours East Africa Time on 9th May 2023. The submissions should be clearly marked: ‘Consultancy service to undertake final evaluation of the project ‘’Intensification of push-pull technology for improved food security, nutrition, and incomes’’.
