Research project: Sustainability of Ecological Organic Agriculture: The case of Murang’a and Kajiado counties in Kenya

Juliet is an DRIP PhD Fellow supervised by Dr Hippolyte Affognon and Dr David Amudavi (icipe) and Prof. Dr. Christian Borgemeister (University of Bonn and ZEF, Germany). Juliet’s research interests include: food security, agricultural sustainability, rural development, agricultural and food trade and is currently researching on the sustainability of ecological organic agriculture in Kajiado and Murang’a counties in Kenya. The research will involve an assessment of sustainability based from the dimensions of ecological, economic and social aspects.

Juliet completed her undergraduate studies in BSC in Agricultural (Economics major) at the University of Nairobi, Kenya and obtained a MSc in International Agricultural and Food Marketing from Newcastle University in United Kingdom. She is currently registered for a PhD at University of Bonn and Center for Development Research (ZEF) in Germany, and is supported by a scholarship from DAAD. Juliet is a member of Center for Development Research (ZEF) junior research team.
