Dr Shewit Kalayou is a Scientist in the Animal Health theme. Shewit holds a PhD. in Veterinary Medicine and Sciences from the Norwegian University of Life Sciences, Norway, an MSc in Biotechnology from the National University of Ireland, and a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from Addis Ababa University, Ethiopia. Prior to joining icipe, Shewit also held research positions at Oslo University Hospital, and as an Assistant Professor at the College of Veterinary Medicine, Mekelle University, Ethiopia. He has a special interest in the application of epidemiology, quantitative proteomics, molecular biology, and computational system biology methods for generating novel biomedical knowledge of adverse health outcomes.
