The International Centre of Insect Physiology and Ecology (icipe) has received financing from the World Bank toward the cost of the Regional Scholarship and Innovation Fund Project and intends to apply part of the proceeds for consulting services.

The consulting services (“the Services”) will be to support Rsif efforts in strengthening the institutional capacity and improving the quality of its doctoral training programs at the AHUs. The objective of the consultancy assignment is to assist the Rsif supported doctoral programs at the Rsif AHUs align with international accreditation standards and best practices in doctoral training. The scope of the assignment is restricted to the doctoral programs at the 15 Rsif AHUs offering PhD training to the Rsif scholars. The consultant will review the programs and advise on their quality and standard with reference to international best practice and standards in doctoral training.

The International Centre of Insect Physiology and Ecology now invites eligible individual consultants (“Consultants”) to indicate their interest in providing the Services. Interested Consultants should provide information demonstrating that they have the required qualifications and relevant experience to perform the Services. The shortlisting criteria is:

  1. The consultant should have a PhD degree in a relevant field.
  2. At least 10 years of experience in a higher education related work; higher education standards and quality assurance, including accreditation is desirable.

The attention of interested Consultants is drawn to Section III, paragraphs, 3.14, 3.16, and 3.17 of the World Bank’s “Procurement Regulations for IPF Borrowers” July 2016 (“Procurement Regulations”), setting forth the World Bank’s policy on conflict of interest.

Expressions of interest can be delivered in a written form to the address below (in person and deposited in the icipe Tender Box, located at icipe Duduville campus, Kasarani, Nairobi (Carroll Wilson Building, Ground Floor) on or before Friday, 11th August 2023 at 11.00 hrs EAT. The bids will be opened the same date and time, in the presence of those submitting.
