Invitation for Bids – Sale of Obsolete Items and Scrap

1). The International Centre of Insect Physiology and Ecology (icipe) is an intergovernmental organisation headquartered in Nairobi, Kenya that carries out research and training in sustainable management of insects (arthropods) for improving comprehensive health and agricultural productivity in the tropics (www.icipe.org).

2). icipe invites interested individuals and/or parties to bid for the items listed below. The items will be sold ‘as is where is’. They can be viewed at the icipe Duduville Campus, Off Thika Road, Off Mwiki Road, Kasarani, Nairobi (Item A) and at icipe Thomas Odhiambo Campus (ITOC), Mbita (Item B), during the period Tuesday 28th January 2025 – Thursday, 30th January 2025 from 10:00 hrs – 15:00 hrs.

A) ITEMS TO BE VIEWED AT icipe DUDUVILLE CAMPUS, KASARANI, NAIROBI

  1. All wooden items and vehicle tyres in Lists 1, 2 and 5 (LOTS 1, 4 – 6, 10), respectively.
  2. All metallic/scrap* items in List 3 (LOT 7).
  3. Two (2) used Generators in List 2 (LOTS 2 & 3)

B) ITEMS TO BE VIEWED AT icipe THOMAS ODHIAMBO CAMPUS, MBITA, HOMABAY COUNTY

  1. Water cylinders and vehicle tyres in List 4 (LOTS 8 & 9)

Note: *Bidders of scrap/metallic items should be licensed scrap metal dealers under the Scrap Metal Council Act of 2015 and MUST produce copy of valid licence/permit.

3). Completed and signed Bid Forms (FORM A) clearly indicating the name and contact details of the bidder, item(s) selected, bid reference and the quoted price should be submitted in a sealed envelope to the address below. The closing date for receipt of bids is on or before Friday, 31st January 2025 at 11:00 hrs. Late bids will be rejected. Only winning bidders will be contacted.
