Enhancing the research, training, and technology adaption and adoption capabilities of universities and other national R&D organisations in Africa for development and use of sustainable arthropod management technologies is an integral part of icipe’s mandate. icipe works to strengthen African organisations and institutions through formal and informal means.
Capacity strengthening of the individual, through icipe’s post-graduate/postdoctoral programmes and other training activities, also contributes to institutional capacity. Therefore the ARPPIS and DRIP programmes and the capacity building associated with technology adaptation and adoption all feeds into institutional development.
