The International Centre of Insect Physiology and Ecology (icipe) has received financing from the World Bank toward the cost of the Regional Scholarship and Innovation Fund Project and intends to apply part of the proceeds for consulting services.
The consulting services (“the Services”) will be to support services of a trainer to enhance the skills and knowledge of Rsif early career scientists (Alumni) and existing faculty in supervising PhD students. The training targets Rsif Alumni and existing faculty as the beneficiaries. Rsif Alumni are fresh Rsif PhD graduates who have taken up teaching roles in universities or research institutes that have PhD students. Existing faculty are staff at the AHUs who are supervising Rsif scholars.

The International Centre of Insect Physiology and Ecology now invites eligible individual consultants (“Consultants”) to indicate their interest in providing the Services. Interested Consultants should provide information demonstrating that they have the required qualifications and relevant experience to perform the Services. The shortlisting criteria is:
- An organization/Institution that already offers PhD supervision training; and should have the following key personnel and experience:
- Trainers with PhD qualification.
- Extensive experience in academia, including research, teaching, and mentoring.
- Proven track record of extensive training experience in facilitating and delivering PhD supervision training.
The attention of interested Consultancy firms is drawn to Section III, paragraphs, 3.14, 3.16, and 3.17 of the World Bank’s “Procurement Regulations for IPF Borrowers” July 2016 (“Procurement Regulations”), setting forth the World Bank’s policy on conflict of interest.

The bids will be opened the same date and time, in the presence of those submitting.
