Enhancing the Livelihood Opportunities of Smallholder African Indigenous Vegetable (AIV) Producers through the Development and Implementation of IPM Measures for Arthropod and Nematode Pests in Kenya and Tanzania

The SSIA unit is involved in identifying socio-economic constraints and opportunities for value addition of selected African indigenous vegetables both in production and in marketing. This is achieved through extensive household and community level surveys that document in addition to constraints and opportunities, the knowledge, attitude and practices with regard to integrated pest management.
