Developing and evaluating trapping tools for conducting vector surveillance to improve timely detection of yellow fever and dengue fever in East Africa

This project exploits cues utilized by host seeking for blood meals by adult mosquito Aedes aegypti, vectors of YF and Dengue, for effective surveillance and estimation of the biting fraction. This is critical for accurate determination of the extent of virus transmission during outbreaks and inter-epidemic periods of these diseases.
