Dear Friends and Colleagues,

We are pleased to present the icipe Annual Report for 2021, the year when the world, reeling from the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, began to pull itself up. (Download pdf version; Watch short video).

In this process, the global community has been compelled to acknowledge longstanding, intolerable inequities. The fragileness of our food and health systems; the importance of science, of global movements of collaboration and solidarity; the cracks and gaps in international research and knowledge systems, have also become evident.

This Annual Report reflects this global awakening, reinforcing two issues: the national, regional and global determination to reimagine the present and rethink the future; and the indispensable role of insect science and icipe in this process.

We express our immense gratitude to all our partners, including funders, collaborators and communities, who share our values and vision, making our journey to transform lives possible.
