The International Centre of Insect Physiology and Ecology (icipe) has received financing from the World Bank toward the cost of the Regional Scholarship and Innovation Fund Project and intends to apply part of the proceeds for consulting services.

The consulting services (“the Services”) aim of the assignment will be to assist the RCU in designing and delivering a 5-day business incubation workshop involving entrepreneurial scientists from the two funded innovation projects and their private sector partners. The aim of the workshop is to equip project teams with essential business skills and to support them to develop business models and roadmaps for commercializing their research products.

The International Centre of Insect Physiology and Ecology now invites eligible individual consultants (“Consultants”) to indicate their interest in providing the Services. Interested Consultants should provide information demonstrating that they have the required qualifications and relevant experience to perform the Services. The shortlisting criteria are:

  • A postgraduate degree in business administration and/or entrepreneurship or related disciplines within technology-based innovation.
  • Over 6 years practical experiences in innovation-based business development, business incubation and/or acceleration, or applying modern business incubation processes.

The attention of interested Consultants is drawn to Section III, paragraphs, 3.14, 3.16, and 3.17 of the World Bank’s “Procurement Regulations for IPF Borrowers” July 2016 (“Procurement Regulations”), setting forth the World Bank’s policy on conflict of interest.

A Consultant will be selected in accordance with the Selection Based on Consultants Qualification” (CQS) method set out in the Procurement Regulations.
