Research project: Host marking pheromones in three Ceratitis species (Diptera: Tephritidae)
Xavier is an ARPPIS PhD Scholar supervised by Prof. Baldwyn Torto (icipe) and Prof. Mary Wambui (Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT), Kenya). Xavier’s research interests include chemical ecology of arthropods. For his PhD he researching on host marking pheromones in Ceratitis species with the aim of developing a semiochemical based tool for use in integrated pest management (IPM). He is registered for a PhD at JKUAT and is supported by a scholarship from Sida.
Xavier holds a BSc in Chemistry from Moi University, Kenya, a Postgraduate Diploma in Education from Kenyatta University, Kenya, and a MSc in Chemistry from JKUAT.
