Research project: Impact of biological control of stem borer on maize and sorghum production in East and Southern Africa

Soul is a DRIP PhD Scholar supervised by Dr Bruno LeRu (icipe), Dr Hippolyte Affognon (icipe) and Dr Macharia (Kenyatta University (KU), Kenya). Soul’s research interests include the adoption patterns and economic impact of agricultural innovations and development policies, and he is currently researching the impact of the icipe program of biological control of cereal stemborers on productivity, poverty and food security. He is registered for a PhD at KU and is supported by a scholarship from DFID.

Soul obtained a BSc in General Agronomy and an Agric. Engineer in Agricultural Economics at Abomey-Calavi University, Benin, and a MSc in Rural Economics from Université Catholique de Louvain, Belgium. Soul is a member of the International Association of Agricultural Economists and the African Association of Agricultural Economists.
