Simon Kiplimo Tawich

Research project: Plant derived Semiochemicals for the attraction of stable fly stomoxys calcitrans L. (Diptera: muscidae) to host plant for sugar acquisition.

Simon is a DRIP MSc Scholar supervised by Dr. Merid Getahun (Icipe) and Dr. Joel Bargul (JKUAT, Kenya). His research interest in behavioural ecology, including chemical interaction of Stomoxys calcitrans and plants and how the interactions can be utilized in the development of control bait technologies. Simon has a BSc degree in Agricultural Biotechnology from University of Eldoret and is currently undertaking his MSc degree in Molecular biology and Bioinformatics at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology.
