Margaret Wanjiku Mugure

Research project: Exploring the phylogenetic evolution and geographic transmission patterns of the rice blast pathogen Magnaporthe oryzae in Africa

Margaret is a DRIP scholar supervised by Dr Dan Masiga (icipe), Dr. Jean-Baka Domelevo Entfellner (BecA-ILRI Hub) and Dr. Wilton Mbinda (Pwani University, Kenya).

 Margaret completed her BSc studies in Biochemistry at Pwani University in 2018 where she graduated with a first class honors. She is currently registered for an MSc in Bioinformatics at Pwani University. She is in her second year and currently placed at BecA-ILRI Hub for her project. She is supported by EANBiT, a program managed at icipe and funded by NIH.

She is also a member of the ISCB (International Society for Computational Biology).
