Ms Maureen Agena
Ms. Maureen Agena is a Senior Communications Specialist under the Regional Coordination Unit (RCU) of the Regional Scholarship and Innovation Fund (RSIF).
Ms. Agena holds a Master of Science in Information Systems jointly awarded by Uganda Martyrs University, Uganda and St. Mary’s University, Nova Scotia, Canada. She also has a Master of Arts in Development Communication from Daystar University, Kenya, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology from Uganda Martyrs University, Uganda.
Prior to joining icipe, Ms. Agena worked for the World Bank Group in Kenya and Uganda Country offices, as an online Communications/ICT4Ag Consultant respectively, supporting the African region. She also worked as a Communications Consultant at the Technical Centre for Agriculture and rural Cooperation (CTA) in the Netherlands and as a Communications and Advocacy Specialist at Regional Universities Forum for Capacity Building in Agriculture (RUFORUM), Uganda. She has lectured at Daystar University, Kenya.
Maureen is a founding member of the ICT Association of Uganda and a member of several other Public Relations and Media Associations. Her interest is in communicating science better.
