Dr Kennedy Senagi

Dr. Kennedy Senagi is a Postdoctoral Fellow (Data Management) under the Data Management, Modelling and Geo-Information Unit. He will be based at icipe’s Duduville Campus.

Dr Kennedy Senagi holds a PhD in Computer Science (Artificial Intelligence and Parallel Computing) from Université Paris8, France. Prior to joining icipe he was working as a lecturer and chairman of the Department of Computer Science at Dedan Kimathi University of Technology, and as an examiner at KASNEB. He has also worked as a software engineer at Kimetrica Limited and UNESCO.

Dr Senagi won a grant and worked as a researcher (Artificial Intelligence) in the Pamoja PHC program, a project funded by Campus France and National Research Fund Kenya; a collaboration between Université Paris8, Dedan Kimathi University of Technology, University of Nairobi and Kenya Agricultural and Livestock Research Organisation.

His research interests are in the areas of Data Science, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Parallel Computing, Software Engineering and Distributed Computing. As part of capacity building, he also supervises PhD and Msc students.
