Dr Jonas Musabwa Mugabe

Dr. Jonas Musabwa Mugabe is a Project Manager under the Accelerating Inclusive Green Growth through Agri-based Digital Innovation in West Africa (AGriDI) project based in Cotonou, Benin. 

Dr. Mugabe holds a PhD in Agriculture Economics from the University of Gembloux (Belgium). Prior to joining icipe, he worked as a Lead Specialist on Research, Policy and Investment, and Project Manager of the Platform for African-European Partnership in Agricultural Research for Development (PAEPARD) at the Forum for Agricultural Research in Africa (FARA). He has also worked as the Deputy Director General for Research at the Institut des Sciences Agronomiques du Rwanda (ISAR - current RAB) and Senior Lecturer at the National University of Rwanda (NUR). 

He has previously won grants and worked as a researcher at Lac Kivu Pilot Learning Site, a project funded by the Sub-Saharan Challenge Programme (SSA CP). Dr. Mugabe has authored or co-authored over 5 peer-reviewed publications and several development papers presented in conferences and workshops. 

His research interests are in integrated agricultural research for development.
